Endodontics is recognized by the American Dental Association as a specialized branch
of dentistry which focuses on the tooth pulp and the tissues surrounding the root
of the tooth.
Should the pulp of a tooth become injured or diseased, endodontic therapy,
commonly known as root canal therapy, is necessary. Endodontic therapy is performed
in an effort to save a tooth which has suffered this type of internal problem.
Why Go to an Endodontist?
An Endodontist must complete an additional 2 to 3 years of specialized training beyond
the 4 years of dental school.
Because of their additional training and along with
the use of specialized equipment, endodontists are able to provide more advanced
treatment of the root and surrounding tissue than is common in general dentistry.
This, in turn, benefits the patient who receives the best care when trying to save
a diseased tooth.
At Brewer Dental, Dr. Dorr and his staff will provide you with the highest level of treatment.
